I watched Shutter by directors Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom (2004) few years back, despite the passing of years and watching a few other horror movies after this film, I have to say The Shutter remains one of the best horror flicks I have ever watch, it still makes me jump from my seat when I watch it!
I liked the twist at the ending when it was revealed that the reason for Tun’s neck ache was that Natre (his ex-girlfriend, who is the ghost haunting him) was sitting on his neck all along. Tun ended up in a very pitiful state, but the underlying theme and message the movie was trying to bring across was clear – karma exists! For all the horrible things Tun and his friends did to Natre, she returned to them with vengeance. When the movie showed Tun confessing to Jane about the things that happened to Natre, I felt sympathy for the ghost. How could Tun do this to someone who he used to love? It makes you shudder upon the realisation that humans can actually be scarier than paranormal beings.
Throughout the movie, there are many ghostly photos shown since the movie revolves around the topic of ghostly photos. I googled up such photos in hope of finding some good examples to show, yet many photos available on the net looks ghastly…ghastly Photoshopped, I would add.
I picked up photography a couple of years back, and now looking back at such “ghost photos” it makes me quiz the authenticity of these since I know that certain photography techniques can be manipulated around to give such effects, in some cases, it might even be just a simple case of dust on the lens or camera sensor! There are aplenty tips and tricks on the net to teach people on creating ghostly images. For the fun of it, I shall attempt doing up such a photo!
So here’s a ghostly one…
And can you spot who is here? :p
